Question & Answer

What was your favorite math experience?
I really like discrete math and theory of computation because they frequently ask questions that are simply worded and easy to understand but quite difficult to solve. I've also enjoyed tutoring high school and GED students one I've learned some of the upper level math behind what they're working on. My all time favorite math moment, however, is putting the staple in a completed and well done problem set.
What do you hope to be doing next year this time?
I'm looking into getting a job teaching math either in the US or internationally. I'm also looking at some non-profit organizations and some varied fellowships.
What advice would you give freshman and sophomores considering majoring in mathematics and statistics?
The upper level courses are great! They're much better than linear algebra and multivariable calculus. Stick with it, and you'll get to the cool stuff soon!
