- What was your favorite math experience?
- Post linear algebra and multivariable classes are where the fun begins. I'd have to say that my most exciting experiences were in Professor Grinstead's classes where he really challenged us to think, as opposed to regurgitating the traditional formulae and methodologies. He'd often say, "just draw a picture!" Or, "Start with a simple example!" Of course, when we struggled to come up with solutions, you could take comfort in the fact that "math is hard!"
- What do you hope to be doing next year this time?
- I'm still in the job-hunting cycle. It's hard to say what exactly I am going to be doing next year, but eventually I hope to be involved in a profession that involves real thought. Maybe teaching?
