Brief Bio
Disha was born and brought up in Bombay, India where she enjoyed math from simple counting and addition through calculus in high school. Her interests in decision science and mathematics led her to a double major in Mathematics and Engineering with a special focus on Operations Research.Her passion for quantitative and analytical problem solving intensified through intellectually stimulating classes and projects at Swarthmore. Projects of particular interest include final examination scheduling based on the assignment problem and enhanced using heuristics as a math thesis and dynamic vehicle routing as the engineering senior design project.

- What was your favorite math experience?
- Modeling was my favorite math class at Swarthmore. I enjoyed learning how to create effective and efficient mathematical models for real life processes and use these models to analyze and optimize the process.
- What do you hope to be doing next year this time?
- Working for a couple of years in a consulting or analyst position.
- What advice would you give freshman and sophomores considering majoring in mathematics and statistics?
- My advice would be to take the placement exam (seriously), take Math 47 and 49 as early as possible, explore the Math courses at Bryn Mawr and Haverford and most of all, enjoy math :) .
