The course grade will be based on:
Midterm 1 25%,
Midterm 2 25%,
Final Exam 30%.
There will be written homework due roughly every week. Collaboration in the homework is permitted, but you are not allowed to copy someone else's work. The solutions must be written individually. You have to mention on your problem set the names of the students that you worked with. You can find the homeworks for this class here.
There will also be homework to be turned in online through WebWorK, an open-source online homework system for math and sciences .
