| During the course of our research,
we have found that the units used in the explanations of the Hodgkin
and Huxley model in common textbooks often disagree. This can make
it difficult for students looking at the model for the first time to
get a good sense of what is going on. In an effort to help alleviate
some of the confusion, the table below consistes of values and units
found in popular textbooks and have been converted into SI Units. Note
that
the equations used are based off thosed depicted in the Enderle and
Schwann texts. Due to inconsistences between the two resources, where
Schwann used a voltage, a negative voltage equal in magnitude but opposite
in sign was used.
