E91 - Embedded Systems, Last Lab

There will be no (or only very short) labs assigned for the last 1.5 to 2 weeks of class.  Instead, you will pursue a project of your own choosing.  You should expect to spend about 15-20 hours on the project.

Task 1:

Write a program that:

I would like to discuss your idea before you start.

After we talk I would like a one to two paragraph email describing your project.

You must consult me before making any physical connections to the microcontroller so we can discuss appropriate voltage levels...

If you need a different processor let me know as soon as possible.  Check out Olimex - they make a series of boards with different processors that are easy to prototype with.  Also check out TI's Value Line and Launchpad.


To turn in:

This lab takes more of a traditional lab report format.  It should be written as if the reader was another member of the class.  S/he has some familiarity with the MSP430, but perhaps not with the nitty-gritty details of all of the subsystems that you used, or with your chosen application/project.  With your report in hand s/he should be able to reproduce what you did and understand it well enough to add to it.
