This recipe originally came from the manual for the GE waffle maker and has been severely modified.

2 c. whole wheat flour (can substitute wheat germ and flax seed for part)
1 T baking powder
salt to taste
cinnamon and nutmeg

1 3/4 c. milk
2 eggs
1/3 c. applesauce

You should also add:
mashed banana
chocolate chips
finely-chopped apples
frozen blueberries

Mix dry ingredients. Beat egg with wet ingredients, then add dry ingredients to wet and combine slightly. Add additions and mix until combined. Put a thin layer of batter on waffle maker and make sure to spread it out.
