survival of the fastest

Race fans, evolution fans -- start your engines! The pro-science, 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is ready. Or at least a really small version is. Can you imagine the impact of a pro-science car tooling around at 200 mph? The NASCAR track and television audience, which features millions of school-age children, would see that science has powerful friends. Sponsors pay approximately $10 million for ads that cover the entire car, but even if the science and education community can't come up with that kind of money, I'm confident that somebody out there would be willing to spring for one of those 5" x 7" ads that cost only $20,000. If you happen to be filthy rich and are outraged that public schools are not teaching evolution -- the most basic fact in biology -- please consider footing the bill for a pro-science NASCAR ad. Here's how. Sure, you'll be $20,000 poorer, but you'll be a hero for the tens of thousands of science teachers in elementary, middle, and high schools in the United States, all teachers who need some public support in their desire to teach real science.

"Evolution is a cornerstone of modern biology" -- John H. Marburger III, director of the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy.
