Biographical / Historical

Rosendale Plains Preparative Meeting was established in the early 19th century. In 1828 it divided into Orthodox and Hicksite branches. In 1902, the Orthodox branch became Tillson Business Meeting; it was more commonly called Tillson Friends Community Church.

Tillson Friends Community Church had dropped its use of "Friends" sometime before 1990 and formally ended its affiliation with the Society of Friends in 1994. Tillson Monthly Meeting was laid down that spring, and its property was transfered to Tillson Community Church.
