Biographical / Historical

Providence Preparative Meeting was established in 1801 under Saratoga Monthly Meeting and became part of Galway Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1802. It transferred to Greenfield Monthly Meeting on that meeting's establishment. In 1828 it divided into Orthodox and Hicksite branches. The Orthodox branch continued until it was laid down in 1843, its members being attached to Greenfield Preparative Meeting.
