Biographical / Historical

Scipio Preparative Meeting was established by Farmington Monthly Meeting in 1803. In 1828 it divided into Orthodox and Hicksite branches. The Orthodox branch divided further in 1847 when the Wilburites departed. In 1892 the Orthodox branch became Poplar Ridge Preparative Meeting, which was laid down in 1902. It was reorganized as a local meeting the same year, and was referred to as the Local Business Meeting of Poplar Ridge Friends Church.
