Account books are ledgers in which commercial and personal financial accounts are recorded. Volumes that were given to Friends Historical Library as single accessions are stored in Account Books Collection, MSS 001. The inventory to this collection has been expanded to include all account books in Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College.
The inventory is arranged alphabetically by creator or collector. Anonymous albums are sorted by type, dated albums first. Call number refers to the specific item in the Account Books Collection (MSS 001) or in other collections in Friends Historical Library (e.g., RG5/162, Wharton identifies the volume as part of the Joseph Wharton Papers).
