Swarthmore Students.
Orchestra
2001: Swarthmore's Professional Orchestra in
Residence. A dynamic orchestra committed to new and
innovative music, Orchestra 2001 performs several times a
semester, both at Swarthmore and in Philadelphia. Selected
student instrumentalists and singers from Swarthmore's
student bodyu are often invited to participate along with
the professionals.

Music around Swarthmore:
- The Philadelphia Orchestra: One of the world's premier orchestras. Great student-rate tickets offered.
- The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia: One of the top conservatories in the world. It is not uncommon for Curtis faculty to teach Swarthmore students.
- The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra: Open to musicians ranging in age from 10 through 21 years, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra presents many concerts a year. In any given year, the membership usually includes a few Swarthmore students.
- The Bach Festival of Philadelphia presents an excellent concert series from September through March.
- The Philadelphia Music Page: Information on a variety of local bands and venues.
