When did you come to work at Swarthmore?
1984.
What were you doing before you came here?
I was a homemaker, mother and part-time student.
What other languages do you know?
I know German and a little Spanish.
What are your personal connections with foreign languages and cultures?
I was born in Germany (a small town, Dornhan, in the Black Forest) and came to the United States with my family as a young child.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The Lilac Garden.
Which places (abroad or in the US) are "your places" besides Swarthmore?
Dornhan, Germany (die Heimat), the German, Austrian and Swiss alps, Portland, Maine (where my grandchildren live), Florida beaches on the Gulf Coast and anywhere in Vermont.
