Travel, living, and project expenses may be covered, up to a maximum of $3750. Interested students should apply with a letter detailing the aims of the project and the plan of work the student proposes to engage in. In addition, applicants should describe their previous coursework that is relevant to the project, explain how the project relates to their ongoing academic program, and identify a faculty advisor for their project. The letter should also include a budget and a timetable outlining when the work would be done.

Letters should be sent to grant coordinator Prof. Will Gardner by May 1, 2009 (e-mail letter to wgardne1). Applicants should identify one Swarthmore faculty member whom the selection committee may contact for an oral recommendation.
