Faire des Phrases / Thème
1. Faire des Phrases is a variation of the jumble sentence exercise you just completed. However, here you are given only the basic elements of the sentence which you must then put together in the same order as they are given, making any changes and additions that are needed. If you look at the example below you will see that the verb is given in the infinitive and must therefore be conjugated. "Yesterday" at the end of the sentence indicates that the verb tense will be the past. Also notice that the preposition and article that must precede "movies" are missing. You must provide them. In French this exercise becomes more complicated, since adjectives must agree with nouns, articles vary according to number and gender, etc etc. The format of this exercise is a text-field with correction. Give the sentence below a try.
The sentence "Yesterday Bill went to the movies" would be both logical and grammatical, however, you are asked to use the words in the order in which they are given.
2. Thème is a translation exercise from English into French. The format of this exercise is a text-field with correction. The correct answer to the following is: Paul est très fatigué. Type it in to practice your accents!
