Materials

In this course you will be working with the text book (le manuel), the workbook (le cahier) which includes written grammar exercises and laboratory work, and the web pages at the address given above.Your workbook and laboratory exercises will be turned in as a packet on Friday of each week. You must be present in class to turn them in. No exercises sent through college mail, slipped under the door, or turned in later than class on Friday will be accepted. It is nonetheless very important that you complete your exercises for the days indicated on the syllabus. Your instructors will verify on a daily basis that you are completing this work. Since we will not be correcting your exercises until the weekend, please feel free to ask any questions you might have about a particular exercise in class.

Please note that at the bottom of each week's syllbaus you will find supplementary self-correcting exercises you can use at any time to review the week's work. These are:

  1. Exercices Interactifs on the Dossiers du Web page.
  2. Self-correcting exercises from the UTexas-Austin (on the Web).
  3. French Grammar I.27NT self-correcting exercises which you will find in the French folder on the desktop of the LRC computers.
Dossiers du Web

Please do not try to complete Web assignments at the last possible moment. It is impossible to predict internet congestion, server crashes, and other acts of a sometimes less than benevolent deity. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Course Progression

You will be given a syllabus at the beginning of each week. You can also access this syllabus on the Web. A normal week will proceed as follows:
