In France, as in the
USA, the Gregorian calendar is used. During the French Revolution,
however, the Republican calendar replaced it. The new Republican year
always began on the anniversary of the abolition of royalty. The
Republican calendar was used from the 24th of October 1793 (le 24
octobre 1793) until the year 1804.
Today you will
visit a site that gives the table of correspondances between the
Republican calendar and the Gregorian one (Tableau
de concordances entre le calendrier républicain et le
calendrier grégorien).
