Andrea Packard has been director of the List Gallery at Swarthmore College since 1995. Andrea has shown her paintings, prints, and sculptures in over fifty exhibitions in Connecticut, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. She has won numerous awards for her work, including the American University's Glassman and Sacknoff Awards, the Pennsylvania Academy's Cresson Traveling Scholarship, fellowships from the Chester Springs Studio and the Vermont Studio Center, and Swarthmore College's Oak Leaf Award, Flack Achievement Award, and Lockwood Fellowship. She has spoken as a panelist in a variety of museum, university and conference settings. A co-founder of Protean Artists Cooperative, she has also worked as an arts administrator at the Perkins Center for the Arts, The University of the Arts, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She has taught in a variety of settings including Swarthmore College, Dartmouth College, The University of the Arts, The American University, Fleisher Art Memorial, and Philadelphia area art centers.

My current paintings and mixed media works spring from childhood memories of the Connecticut woods, from direct observation, and from improvisation. I search for compelling forms, unexpected spatial relationships, and densely layered surfaces that evoke something of nature's mystery and complexity.
