Swarthmore Policies on Exam Times, Places and Conflicts On Finals and Travel Plans: By College policy, final examinations are not rescheduled to accommodate travel plans. If you must make travel arrangements before the exam schedule is published, do not expect to be able to leave until after finals end. Help for Three Exams in 24 Hours: College policy holds that students with three final examinations within 24 hours are to be allowed to reschedule one of their exams in consultation with the professor (so long as students make such requests in a timely manner). Talk to the professors first, and if you need a note from the Registrar, please just ask. Examples: If you have an exam at 9:00am, then another at 12:00pm, then another at 7:00pm all on the same day, that is a case of three exams in 24 hours. If you have an exam at 9:00am, then another at 12:00pm, then another at 9:00am the next morning, that is NOT a case of three exams in 24 hours, and you are not covered by the policy. Spring Semester "Finals" and "Honors Exams" follow DIFFERENT time tables. Regular Finals run 9:00am-12:00pm, 2:00pm-5:00pm, and 7:00pm-10:00pm. Honors Exams run 8:30am-11:30am, and 1:30pm-4:30pm (no evening time). Regarding Conflicts between Spring Finals and Writtens: Location of Spring Writtens: Honors seniors take Honors Written Exams either by computer (in Kohlberg 117 or Trotter 201) or hand-writting (in Lang PAC 2). All non-honors students taking Writtens as course finals must hand-write their exams in Lang PAC 2. Location of Regular Finals - available in Finals Schedule, or as amended by the professor.
