Food awaits you over there. But, please note the following:
First, without exception, the arrangements by which food will be available to you over there are going to be very different from what you are used to at home. Often, the differences will importantly feature scheduling of meals.
Second, some of you have definite, established dietary preferences, or even requirements, e.g., vegetarian or kosher diets. If you are one of these folks, you have to decide before you go how important this is going to be to you while you are abroad. If you decide that it is going to be important, then it is your responsibility to find out what - re your preferences and requirements - is going to be available to you in your study abroad locale, and how much flexibility your hosts will be able to muster in this regard. Please remember: a) Wherever you are going, your program has established practices and procedures, re food for participants, and these practices and procedures are readily knowable by you in advance. b) If you attend a program, you are expected to manage within its established practices and procedures. You are not entitled to receive special treatment in this regard because of dietary preferences or requirements you have before you join the program.
Third, and I think most importantly: everywhere, what natives eat, and - especially - the local social usages in association with the preparation and consumption of food, are at the very heart of the culture and its meaningfulness to natives. For educational - culture learning - reasons, you should therefore go intending to accommodate to and participate in this vital feature of your host culture, as your program calls upon you and enables you to do so. And so also for moral reasons - expression by your behavior of respect for your host culture - should you intend to conform to local food usages. This is especially important if you will be living with a family while abroad.
Finally, folks, educational and moral considerations aside, most of us who have traveled and lived abroad have derived great pleasure from doing so; and you wouldn't believe how much of this pleasure has come from eating, and what goes on in association with eating. Don't short change yourselves.
