| Today, Praofessor of Art Randy Exon came to talk to the group about our upcoming trip to the Philadelphia Art Museum. His talk was wonderful and a perfect way to get excited and prepared for our visit to the museum this Thursday. He first talked about the way you look at art, not just in the context of a museum or an exhibit, but in everydy life. He used the example of writing one's signature to explain the often ignored significance that everyone gives to lines, shapes, and patterns. Then we were lucky enough to ve the audience to one of his slide shows. He presented us with a variety of art work, mostly drawings and paintings. We talked about such themes as color distribution, angles, rhythm of art work, lines, shapes, and colors. Afterwards, we asked Professor Exon questions and found out a bit about his past and his artwork. Professor Exon finished with some tips on how to explore a museum and view artwork. He said that you always bring a part of yourself to art, your past experiences, ect. He adviced us to forget convention and look at the pieces of art in terms of the themes he gave us as well as the way that it personally affected each of us. What good advice!! Everyone seemed excited about our trip to the museum and I think we are now truly prepared for Thursday!!
