WOMEN'S WELLNESS CENTER

Program Summary

 

PURPOSE

To remove external and internal barriers to self sufficiency among poor women and their families while assisting the community and its members to become educated consumers of and advocates for health services

 

OBJECTIVES

¥ To strengthen and develop those skills that will develop mentally, physically, emotionally and economically healthy women who can model and support those skills in their families

 

METHODS

¥ Provide training according to needs including parenting, health education, life skills, technology education and community development

¥ Provide information and access to resources

¥ Train residents to train others

¥ Create support units through self help

¥ The use of volunteer work to develop skills

¥ Collaboration with community agencies and organizations to provide services

¥ Provide opportunities to practice and use new skills
