Thank you for coming to our website. The Facilities Management Department is responsible for all aspects of construction, grounds care, cleaning and maintenance for all campus buildings and housing. The campus consists of fifty-one main buildings set on 325 acres of gardens, lawns, athletic fields and natural woodlands. In addition, the College maintains 136 faculty/staff housing units ranging from efficiency apartments to historic homes. Together with the campus buildings we care for 1.6 million square feet of structures and some 2,100 constituents who live or work at Swarthmore College.

Our purpose and mission is to provide comfortable and pleasant working and living environments for the students, faculty and staff that make up our college community. The ultimate goal is to eliminate distractions from the academic experience Swarthmore College is rightly renowned for.
