Lawrence Lifschultz
Mr. Lawrence Lifschultz has been a South Asia correspondent
for the Far Eastern Economic Review. He has also written extensively
on Asian and European affairs for The Guardian, Le Monde Diplomatique,
the BBC, and The Nation. Amongst his popular books are Hiroshima's
Shadow, Why Bosnia?: Writings on the Balkan War, Bordering
on Treason: The Trial and Conviction of Arif Durrani and Bangladesh:
The Unfinished Revolution. He has interviewed many Kashmiri
politicians such as the late Abdul Ghani Lone and is very
well versed in the socio-economic-political atmosphere of
South Asia. He is currently writing a book called Kashmir:
Is there a way out of this impasse?, to be published this
summer. He is currently at the Yale International and Area
Studies Institute.
